    P Mono

I recently bought a used P Mono. It came with a Hacker motor which does not have a cooling jacket. Do these motors not need one? I am new to FE (coming from Nitro) so I am not familiar with the motor. It also has the smallest flexshaft I've ever seen (1/8 in). Will this do the job?

    Thanks

I would upgrade the flex to at least a .150 and .187 would be better. I don't know what water jacket will fit that motor but I would add that as well.

The Hacker is a high quality 2-pole motor, but it does need a cooling jacket. Get an aluminum jacket, not the cheap leaking silicone jackets. While Ed Hughey believes that the 1/8" cable is stronger than the 0.150" cable, I too recommend going to standard nitro 0.187" cable. It is a good idea to know the wind of the motor, is it a 7XL, 8L, 9XL, etc. That information is vital to know in order to choose the correct prop. Too large a prop will bog the motor down, draw too many amps and burn something up. It is best to start on the smaller end of the range for a particular motor/voltage combination.

If ya can post some pics so we can see what you're working with. Someone may pick up on something that you may miss all together. Is the flexshaft a wiredrive maybe?

          Thanks Guys

I can't post any pictures just yet. Will do when I can.
Its a B50-8XL motor and its does have a flexshaft not a wiredrive.
Also it came with a Schulze 105/130a ESC. Will it re-program to my receiver automatically?

          Thanks
