How much to make this boat electric

I had this motor setup for gas and was getting out of that side of it, I thought the hull would be easy to sell locally but its been two months with out a bite. I had it down to $100 with hull and hardware and could not sell it. I would rather just hold on to it then give it away. the thought of make electric is there, but can it be done with out braking the bank? Hull is about 46" long.

What are your expectations for speed and run time? What kind of running will you do? Breaking the bank means different things to different people, what is your actual budget? Big FE boats are not cheap for most folks. Like the man said: "Fast, reliable, cheap - choose any two".

fun running ,about 30 mph, 6s if possible if it cost more then a gas motor than forget about it.

Even a budget build is probably going to cost you more than a stock Zenoah with a tuned pipe, and your run times will be much less.

I've converter a few gassers to FE and it ain't cheap. Way more than putting another gas engine in it.

Unless you live where the tree huggers rule the lakes and low noise levels are required, it's not worth it to convert to FE. I live in San Diego, where there are more tree huggers than trees. For me to run my boats in local lakes FE was my only option. On the positive side, I've met alot of great folks, and picked up great tips from knowledgable FE boaters at races & the friendly folks right here on OSE.

And I still run my gas hydros at the only "official" boat pond, but it's saltwater. My FE boats don't do saltwater. JIM
