    Amp draw!!!

Wow, coming from RC cars and trucks to boating. Starting with a Motley Crew. What a world of difference in power requirements. I have a Traxxas Summit running a Dewalt 14.4 volt cordless drill motor on 4s. I thought that drew alot of current. But wow, no comparison to the boat. I soldered in some Traxxas high current connectors, as they are rated higher than the Deans it comes with, and, I can interchange batteries with my Summit. I never had my connectors get warm on the Summit but on the boat quite warm, batteries too. Quite a suprise. I can see why high C rating is almost mandatory. Just some thoughts

Just for reference... a BONE STOCK Pro Boat Mystic with 1800KV motor pulls around 56Amps AVERAGE...

Boats are nothing like cars/trucks, or most planes. More like a Helicopter or Oval racing car... A boat is under constant load... like a car that is constantly launching itself... There is very little amp-drop once full-speed is reached.
