    Strut depth and distance

Guys I could use some guidance here.

I have the 22" Mono1 by R2Hobbies. My intent is to use this as a rescue boat- so speed is not a big concern.

I mounted up a 1/8" strut as I intent to run small props on this small boat.

However after looking at it, it visually seems strut is not deep enough. It also looks to be to close to the hull. A thing to note is the front of the prop will be around the front of the rudder, which I have read is good.

    Opinions please:

    Anyone?

The hole thru the transom is quite large. I might just try running as is and put a pile of silicone back there just to try it. If it works I could then epoxy it up w/micro ballons.
