    Sorry Guys.....Yet More Questions

Hope you guys will bear with me as I keep firing rooky questions at you all.

I'll soon be starting to assemble new components into this thing I've got in hopes of getting it to work.

I kinda need to know specific things to watch out for when installing components.

I'm going to do everything I can to ensure that any electronics and the servo are protected from getting wet. I'm pretty sure I can keep water out of this boat....I think if any does get in it will be minimal. But I have a compartment in this boat where I plan on installing the electronics where they should be pretty safe.

Are there any recommended locations to put certain things in these boats? Given they're not terribly big....interior space is somewhat limited. Any specific things to avoid?

One thing that comes to mind........Is there anything that should be kept as far away as possible from the rx in order to avoid any possible radio interference?

Knowing the specifics of your build would help us to give you good advice. How about:
    Hull specifics
    Motor
    ESC
    Packs
    Radio
Desired result - oval racing, sport running, SAW passes...

Of course.....I understand. At least I should say...I understand where you're coming from. Much better than I understand where I'm going.

I have a couple of other threads going but here's the link to my thread in the build forum that will give you an idea of what I'm trying to accomplish. Thanks.

Dont put equipment in a seperate box. All equipment needs air to get rid of the heat.
The best thing to do is make sure your boat is the the dry compartment itself.
Have a look in the picture section, I think you will see there that almost no one is making a seperate box for the electronics.

Its just the easiest way and prevents adding weight to your boat. (you want it to be as light as possible)

            oh and another thing:

Do you have any knowledge about how a boat should be build? If I say CG or balance point, do you know what I mean?

Im trying to figure out what you know already so I can adjust my answers on that.

              Thanks Remmie....

This boat has a compartment at the rear that's part of the boat itself...so I wasn't planning on making a separate box....just using what's there. The servo and printed circuit board were housed in there. Servo still has to go in there....I'll look for other locations for other components.

CG = Center of gravity I presume.

Never played with these things before.....knowing how these things are built is coming only from what I'm seeing here at this point. Totally new to all of this.

Are there any specific components that should be kept away from the rx so as to not affect radio reception?

You generally want to keep the high power wires away from the RX- avoid the RX signal line or antenna from crossing the battery leads, etc. I tried to find an old article on it but I can't remember where it is...

You'll be able to keep that ESC outside the radio box Skip.It is waterproof,FULLY.If it gets warm a cooling plate can be added. So just keep the Rx and servo in that box and you should be good for interference. You may have to add some caps or mmm, what are they called?(It's been a while for brushed stuff) To the motors. The local hobby store should know.

Think they have a small resistor. Used to race electric onroad years ago and cant remember either lol
