Most Expensive FE You've Seen Or Heard Of?

Some of you may have seen a couple of my threads here where I"m trying to make a pretty cheap thing I bought work...as cheaply as I can. What happens after that remains to be seen.

But I got to wondering just how deeply one can get into this game with one boat.?

Seems I saaw someone around here some where who had something like around $1700.00 into a build he was doing..or did.

And it got me wondering what the most expensive project you guys might have seen was.

    Just curious.

$1700 is nothing. It is very easy to sink $2,000 plus in an average boat while the BIG cats in Europe are probably up around the $5000-10000 range.

When you start adding up $500 motors, $500 speed controllers, expensive hulls, radios, 10S or 12S 5000mAh batteries in 2P configuration, really good hardware, custom turn fins, and $1,000 paint jobs, it adds up pretty fast.

Remember, you can have just as much fun with a $250-$300 mini or an AQuacraft of Proboat RTR for a bit more. You may not win races with them but the fun factor for a reasonable price is easily attained. Our little GII Micro Hydro, for
example, sells for $269 and will run 42-45mph right out of the box!

Some of the those Lehner electric motors are like $800 AUD each and people have two of them. it seems that if you go over a hull thats 1.2M long you tripple the price for any part

I think my Shocker was about $1200.I know you've seen that one.New props are $75 and an ongoing adventure.Just to give you an idea. But the next one is going to be twin 1717's(motors),Castle ESC's and either an MHZ or HPR hull. That should hit a couple $K.Then batteries which I have.

YIKES!!! Well.....I guess I can't really call you guys nuts........because I know what it's liked when getting involved in something seriously. I've got thousands of $$$$$ sunk into my guns and reloading equipment for my shooting sports. And we won't even talk about getting into real boats. Big boys and their toys huh.

I'm knocking a $1k for my big mono. Most I'm in so far, ima boater on a budget though. Slowely in the process of getting a 37" df explorer run ready and the price on that may get pretty high, but honestly I've had to put boats a side for a while. Boating and my bank account aren't playing nice together at the moment. Started building edf planes. For around $100 I can a build a 70+mph plane. Cheap speeds kinda hard to beat...

I think this is one of threads our wifes shouldn't see...

HA HA....you got that right. I don't even try to add things up when I look around at my stuff. It's too scary.

Touching $2600 for my project now. Silly how much more expensive it is when the size reaches 40" and over.
