    I need prop help fast!!!!!!!!!!

I want to get a bigger prop for my DF22, I am planning on a 3/16th inch shaft. Unfortunately, alot of the props are out of stock, and I would like to order today. Which prop should I get?

Sorry SJ. I'm using two 8.4 volt packs in series, a Feigao 540L 10 turn, and X-power 100a ESC.

That is a pretty hot setup. I would start off with one of the smallest props you can buy.

A 2458 Kv motor on 16.8 volts?? 41,294 rpm?? In a 22" hull?? Before worrying about props I'd be re-thinking this set up.

I have to agree. I believe you mentioned your packs heating up in another thread. This is a direct result of your setup. I would drop in KV from 1800 to 2300. Then you can look @ somthing in a 3/16th around a x637 or so.

Another thing you may want to do is drop the cell count to 10 cells. This will put your RPMs at 29496 which is more in line with sport running. The boat will also be lighter since you will not be using as many cells.

A few years back I used a 10L, 12 NiMH cells in an Oval Master 26. But, that was a race setup. I believe I used an X440 prop. Sprint racing only, which means a total runtime of 1 min 30 seconds. That was using a bigger and slower hull and a lesser battery count than you have (I think).

When you say 8.4 volt packs in series, are you talking about 2S lipo packs, or (2) 7 cell NiMH packs?? I'm not following your battery setup.

I would think a 10L, 4S Lipos (or 12 Nimh cells) and an X435 2 blade would be plenty for that hull. Maybe even an X432.

                      They are Nimh cells.

                      I use an x432 now.

The packs are the only thing that gets remotely hot. Any advice?

Any change of setup advice? Motors, etc?

Any advice will be greatly appreciated!

14 Nimh cells?? Forgive my ignorance. It's been a while since I've run NiMH!

That should be plenty of voltage for the 10L and that hull. If you feel your boat is stable with the X432 and the components don't have a heat issue, an X632 or X435 may get you a little more. Just shorten your runtimes until you have a good handle on the setup.

If it where my hull, I'd stick w/the 1/8th props.

I ordered an x440, but I'm going to seriously cut my cell count, at least to 12 cells before I run it. Or is that just a bad idea and should I return it?
