    New T600 Outrunners from HK

Anyone seen the new T600 outrunners from HK called the HeliDrive SK3 Competition: http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...ize_heli_.html

Look pretty cool, nice 1600kv and 5mm shaft. Wattage seems less though. I thought the older T600s where 3000watt?

They are smaller than the old T600 seem to be suited for 500 class heli not 600.
smaller dimensions too I think it would be more comparable to the typhoon 1800kv 500class motor.
would love to see a review on them

The smaller dimensions would explain the lower wattage and 5mm shaft. Thanks for that comparison data. If they are similar to the typhoon size motors could be a nice outrunner for a MG/Mystic or Motley crew add 5s and swordfish 200 and have a nice little sport boat setup... would be interested in a review as well. Nothing sounds like an outrunner. :D

Just curious, why run an outrunner in a boat? JIM

Why not? They're inexpensive and make a lot of power for their size.

Don't outrunners run hotter than an equivalent water jacketed inrunner? JIM

I ran my twin 47" mono last weekend at the Hagerstown race in open Nitro/FE mono
and temps on the motors were end bell: 114-117 deg F front bell: 128-132 deg F
I use outrunners in the boat and they sounds so SWEET!!!!!!!!!
              (the boat in my avatar)

Suppo (FC Racing) 1330KV on 6S2P speed of the boat is 55-57mph depending on water conditions and props used.

They will run hotter, but they can while still being efficient.
