I was working on my newly acquired FE OPC tunnel, and was looking for a way to seal up the copper tubes that allow the ESC wires to pass thru the box to the motor. My wife uses Macks silicon earplugs at night to ward off my snoring, and had a bunch of old ones gathering dust (yuck)--- I ended up using them to seal up the ends of the tubes. It worked great-- keeps the water out just fine.
Then I was looking at my seaking ESC-- the ESC has really nice rubber wrap around it, and the only exposure to the board is on the ends where the wires attach. I was debating what to use to fill up that gap to seal the ends, liquid electrical tape, etc. Then I looked at the pile of nasty used earplugs and decided, what the heck... and crammed 'em into the ends and then used a few more to encase the wires. The plugs stay pliable and mold very easily. If you want to remove them, just pull 'em off.
I think it will work-- we'll see if the ESC holds up...
