If it is like tool dip it leaks and causes corrosion.

i have used liquid electrical tape with pretty good results, it is better then plasti dip for sure, that stuff doesn't do jack. Conformal spray is your best bet though.

I bought a 6 oz can of black "Spray Liquid Tape ELECTRICAL" by GB Gardner Bender at Home Depot for $6.99 yesterday. Look on Home Depots website for it. The manufacturer's website is www.gardenerbender.com, phone 1-800-822-9220. There's been a lot of positive comments on threads on OSE. JIM

Silicone sealant is a bad idea. It will insulate the ESC and make it run hotter - not good. There's gotta be a Home Depot near to where you can buy the spray on electrical tape. There's a lot of very experienced FE boters on OSE that swear by it. JIM

dont use silicone. Why not just use what has been recommended already, as that stuff works.

Thanks Michael. I'm a big fan of silicone sealant. It has many good uses, including building all glass aquariums (as I did for a few years), sealing shower/tub leaks, and a zillion other home uses.

But, using silicone sealant on a FE boat ANYWHERE is problematic. Use it on a crack or hole in your hull and you can't fiberglass over it later. And you will pay Hell trying to get it completly off the inner fiberglass hull to re-glass it. JIM

You are right, the only use of RTV sylcon is the antenna hole and strut hole. I have never had to repair there.

Seams is a big NO NO!
