It should come ready to fire pretty much. You need bec to rx in order to control them I think. They dont use bec inside

They are OPTO esc's. You need a receiver battery pluged into the receiver in order for it to work.

You may already know this (I didn't ) but It's non bec. You have to connect a seperate battery to the rx or add a bec.

WOW 3 responses at the same time.

And yes, they require a Rx pack of some type. Eventhough they have the red wire still in the tx reciever plug, it isn't sending power there. Plug a 5cell pack or 4 AA battieries in there and "Viola"

Now if you a running the Rx pack already, then you may have a problem. If you bought it within the past couple of weeks, Steven should have included the PC link and the download. Try resetting the programming.

What radio are you using and what channel is the esc in. Are you plugging it in backwards perhaps to the rx? I know your not dumb but all easy things to try. What battery are you using to power esc cause I think it has to be at least 7.2V.

Sounds like throttle adjustment problem on the transmitter.
First start out without the esc plugged into the RX. Turn on the radio.
                Does the rudder work?
If yes than you have power to the RX.
Now don't shut anything off! Without the motor batteries plugged in! Plug in the esc lead into the RX. Stand clear of the prop, now plug in the motor batteries.
Does it beep? If not start adjusting the throttle adjustment on the TX. See if it finds it.

I got one of those ESCs also, and it gave me no problems at all. I first ran it with one 8.4 volt 7 cell nimh, and it beeps before I even turn on the Rx, if I forget and plug it in first. no problems. But I do run with a reciever pack.

                    Doa

I tried everything as everyone has stated and it wont work. I know to plug in a receiver pack battery and followed the steps.
                    1. Plugged the motor to esc
                    2. Plugged the esc to receiver.
                    3. Then battery to receiver.
                    4. Then batteries to esc.

I done all this with another receiver and it works fine just not enough amps.
I am pretty sure this thing is dead!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

                      Please answer the above question?

First start out without the esc plugged into the RX. Turn on the radio.
                      Does the rudder work?

then there is a problem with your receiver, radio, or receiver battery, if the servo wont work why would esc?

Mich is right. Check the power going to the receiver. If your dad has a volt meter check the voltage.
