My persuit suddenly stops then starts

So I went out today to run my persuit same setup same batteries as normal (had no problems previously) running a seaking 180 4s2p and during the run the boat at full throttle would suddenly stop then I could lower the throttle and it would start again. Did this twice.

Thought it could be hitting low voltage cutoff but brought the boat in with 60% left on the Lipos. Also the low voltage cut off would kick in with a soft shutdown like normal not a sudden one like this. Also all temps on motor, esc and batteries were normal with no sign of a brown out on the receiver. Any help?

Agreed check your connections. What exact batteries and motors are you using also? And what connectors on the motor to esc and what battery connectors? Also seakings are notorious for premature lvc issues especially when running in "auto detect' mode so even though your selected "soft shutdown" it still could be hitting the lvc. Try changine the settings to 4s and the lvc to 3.2v and re-calibrate your throttle after making the changes.

I had a similar experience with my Pursuit: The Seaking 180A has a FailSafe and if the receiver is not getting enough signal it will shut down the motor, your letting go of the throttle and then reapplying it is like re arming it. Just saying... I changed my Tactic to a Proboat system and the problem went away, by the way it is the only Tactic receiver so far I had a problem. I have 3 of 4 other boats that use that w/o any gliches. You won't know if you have a brown-out on your receiver till you changed to another one, I didn't believe it either and over looked the obvious at first.

Thanks Im guessing what your saying is correct as I failed to mention the day before my pursuit had flipped and the hatch tape came loose letting a fair bit of water in. Everything seemed to work fine afterwards but Im gonna guess its the receiver thats causing the problem from getting too wet the day before. So Ill put in a new receiver and also change the settings to what diesel suggested (Im running two Gen Ace 4s 4000 packs Diesel with PRC6 connectors http://www.progressiverc.com/prc6-co...s-2-pairs.html ) and see if that works tomorrow.

PS just want to give a shout out to how awesome this community and OSE is for helping guys like me, thanks!

Well got another run in today and had no problems with the boat cutting off even hit a top speed for me of 55mph. Set the lipo to manual 4 cell and dried out the receiver completely, not sure which one was the issue. New problem I found though is there is a place on the bottom of my boat hull that is starting to chaff away. Looks like its gonna get bigger and bigger if I dont do anything. Was think of tracing the edge of the Chaffing with some 5 min epoxy, anyone else have any thoughts? Im sure one day Ill come home from the field having a perfect run with no issues, just not yet....

                  Inside the hull or outside?

outside on the bottom, went ahead and spread a thin amount of epoxy over it, hope it doesnt slow it down too much :)

                      your speed is great!
If it isn't near the ride pad probably won't slow down. When you say chaff away you mean the top layer of gel coat? I bought a used DF hull one time and there was damage during shipping. The top layer was chipped away and loose bits hanging , I used medium CA to secure loose bits, waited for it to cure, then another application, etc. Epoxy is good but in my case i needed something that can "flow" into the cracks. I sanded down the bulged area and made is as smooth as i can.
Right now there is a deformation on my Pursuit V-bottom near the battery, you can see the hull wobbles a bit under the right light, was thinking "truing it" with Auto -Bondo filler, but I also realized once the boat is on plane that part is not in the water. There is always something wrong, perhaps that is why I don't get bored with this hobby.
