i thought i just read somewhere else they were talking the newer t180's and someone posted that there were no need for more caps as they added 3 from factory and also he didnt run a external batt or bec as the new t180 runs 6s well with the internal bec? not trying to sway off course here but supposedly the new and improved t180 with all of the old problems and gripes are fixed and theres no need to do anything but water proof it. i stray from the 180's as i smoked a older one running the internal bec on 6s. to much cash to be throwing away but i may try a newer t180 if the problems were fixed.

I think properchopper means that the motor won't handle the voltage, but the esc will.

Best to caution bystanders to back safely away from the blast zone.

I think the jury is maybe still out on this one. Certainly quite a few people (including me) have been running the later versions T180 using the internal BEC with 6S with no problems, but that might just be luck. . I'm hopeful that the problem is fixed, but I guess only time will tell. Feedback from any other users of recent version T180 units running on 6S would be good.

Thanx guys appreciate the comments, especially prope chopper. Well maybe not him lol, not looking to stay at 6s manly 4 and 5 but wanna get some high speed runs maybe 2 to 4 passes on 6s, I know about blow ups been there before so I'm trying to add caps and avoid one less problem for speed pass.

The new t180's are double the continuos amp rate at 320 which may or may not be safe for me, caps,caps,caps...
Also I didn't rely on built in bec added castles bec and seems good for now.

Yes the new t180's have an additional bank of caps. there are 4 that are attached to short wire, soldered onto underside of red and black battery wires. I could take a pic if anyone is curious enough and would like to see it. and that's about all i can tell you as this is my 1st boat. but don't have to know anything about boats to laugh at "caps on cell phone for 911 call", now that's funny right there!
It's great to have a forum like this where us newbies can learn and laugh at the same time.
