    Hobby King Warranty Return, FYI

Just an FYI to anyone that has never received a defective product from Hobby King. Lots of folks buy from HK and keep their fingers crossed that the product will arrive in the 15 days or so without incident. This is what happens when it doesn’t!
Defective ESC, (out of box failure) ordered 2, one of them was good, and the other was not. ESC was $ 50.00.
Notified HK customer service (joke) no reply for 8 days. I managed to get an RA without going through customer service and returned the product to their warranty dept. (another joke) in Washington. No reply that they received it at all. I sent 9 (yes 9) e-mails to customer service with no reply. Finally after 4 weeks I got an email stating that the warranty dept. takes 4 weeks to get something looked at and another 2 weeks for a disposition. I filed a complaint with PayPal and got my money back in 3 more weeks. This is certainly not going to deter anyone from buying from HK because of the cheap prices, just be aware that if the product is defective get set for a less than happy experience.

You're lucky you got them to give you an RMA.... I received a bad battery and they wouldnt even admit it was bad. My loss, but I will continue to use $59 batts as long as they meet my needs compared to overpriced batts at $200 or more. I have about 15 with only 1 bad one. I don't question there is a quality difference, but I cant see paying 3-4 times as much. Most of my experience has been in large electric helis where amp draw is not as high... I may be changing my tune once I get my new 6S2P mono in the water. Fingers crossed.

I think most people know that if a part from HK goes bad it's a chuck in the bin and order another one.

I agree with you. It is what it is! Great prices (or generally better than can be found elsewhere), I use their batteries also, and same deal as you with the batteries (1 bad out of 10) but I was able to bring it back to life with a new Hyperion charger. I think I should have said if you are going to use HK always pay with PayPal. You might have to wait 3 months but most of the time you can get your money back.

That is great advice. I should have taken that approach. Will know for next time!
