Ran my son's Syma conversion to test it out yesterday at lunch..............the servo rod unhooked inside somehow. I had his trusty 12 dollar Wal-mart rod with me and a 5" Heddon Spook lure with 2 treble hooks and a trailer hook for more grabbing ability.
Well........................First cast over towards it was long................near the edge of a lilypad bed, in mid Spring.............I quickly reeled in to get it closer to the boat, and BAM!!! Big ol' fat female Largemouth nailed it and came 2 feet out of the water trying to spit out its untasty lunch.
Luckily i had the drag set light and this Mama didnt want to come in..............she made one last desperate run deep and took out 30 feet of line. Finally got her close and simply dragged her up in the bank. She was a fat one...................I had to show the guys at work or it would just be another fish story. So i lipped her and carried her in my car the 300 yards back to the dealership and pulled around to the detail dept. There is filled up our big cooler with water and plopped her in. First place i went was to service to tell the mechanics as they love fishing.............one guy had a scale in his truck and we hoisted her up...............6.8 pounds of her!!!!!
Word spread and by that time nearly everyone had got a gander of her.................so I carried the cooler back with another guy and we plopped her back in the lake.............grabbed the rod again and caught the stranded boat which i had left..................cool deal.
BUT no pic as i had simply forgotten to in all the excitement.................kinda sucks cuz it was the largest Bass i had ever caught.:)
