    Help choose....

    Hi all,
I have been looking and reading alot in the last few weeks. I am looking to get my first electric boat. I have been into planes and trucks for some time now. I have Rx and Tx so looking for ARTR. I was hoping to spend no more then 300$. There was an impulse 31, geico, motley crüe for sale used locally. All are in near perfect condition. I was leaning towards the impulse as I love the look of the deep v's over the cats. Unfortunalty I didn't pull the plug on the impulse in time and it sold. Now it's between the geico or the motley. The motley is stock and the geico comes with
    Stock transmitter
    MR3000 receiver
Stiletto 1800kv motor and 60amp speed control
Stock 1500kv motor and 45 amp speed control
    Grim racer 42x55
    Stock prop

Or if someone has a nice deep v for sale or knows of a nice new setup under 300 let me know.
Thanks for all the help guys !

those are all nice boats, but the impulse is not a deep v, its a mono. same shape but much shallower. deep v is better for heavy chop but are limited to speed. monos do better in flatter water but are capable of higher speeds, and cats are just all around cool. any of the boats mentioned are good boats and 300 is around new price. there are always cool boats for sale in here, just gotta wait it out sometimes. heres a vid of my titan 29, a deep v. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mYWeEdz-Keo if youre handy ,these are pretty easy builds

Sorry didn't realize the impulse wasn't a deep V. I guess more or less I'm looking at a mono or cat then. I have been looking in the classifieds and will continue

Steve has the impulse in stock on the OSE store, it is a little over your target $300.

I think a mono is a great first boat as you can run it in pretty much any water condition. Note, it is really easy to sell/trade boats on the forum here, so if you decide cats or hydros are your thing you can unload your equipment later. You could also post a WTB ad in the swap shop section-- I bet you somebody has a nice mono at your price range...

I have now been offered a beauty 28" mono self righting hull with AquaCraft Brushless B36 Motor (1800kv) with 5mm Motor
Shaft, Aquacraft 45 amp speed controller. Boat was setup by an experienced hobbyist with a propeller shaft oiling unit and all trim tabs setup for optimum performance. This boat is also in like new condition and is sellin for the same price as the geico and motley Crüe.
Is this a good option or do I stick to either cats ?
            Thanks

              What kind of 28" mono?

The 32" Pursuits are nice boats. But with your budget used is the only way to get into one thats truly ARTR.

If you can go a tad smaller size, the 26" Prince boats are really fast and handle AWESOME. Kintec has this boat, you will want the "Upgrade Option" for SURE.
42" Osprey, 32" Pursuit, 26" Bling Rocket (rescue), Blizzard Rigger, JAE 21FE rigger, Hobby King rigger (RIP)

I'm finding out what brand the hull is.
I just realized it sounds like a stock aquacraft sv 27" to me.
I'm really leaning towards the miss geico. Basically like the looks better than the motley and it comes
                With the upgraded stiletto motor.

Well the guy wasn't 100% sure on the maker of the hull but he is a local club member who says its a higher end self righting hull.
I will attach a picture tonight. With those electronic specs listed. What speeds will I likey get ? It's a hard decision. Cat or mono
