    motor suggestions

i have a 40" genesis cat, 200a swordfish esc, 435 prop, what motor would yall suggest for some decent speed(50ish mph), i can change the prop if needed just want to get a better motor than the stock 2075 that came with the boat.

    Hey camarohrod,
I don't know what size motor you need, or feel qualified enough to suggest one. However, this site has a pretty useful tool- the Speed Calc. ( http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/conversion.htm ). Also, there are charts on fighterecat's website, if you join, under resources.

What kind of price range are you hoping for and what do you have for batteries.

Are you sure the prop you have is a 435? As in an Octura X435? Maybe since I dont know some other numerical designation its not what I think. But a 40" hull using a 35mm prop? I'm thinking your off by quite a bit. Another question. Is that a 36mm motor? And is the kv 2075? 4S is not too bad. 6S? Oooch. 6S on a 2075 kv motor even with a small prop. 35mm will not get you 50mph.

That is a stock Genesis 36/74 2075kv motor.I agree with John,if that is a x435 octura, that prop is definetly to small for the Genesis

                  How about $88ish?

4 pole, much higher efficiency, and will fit right into your stock mount. The 1900 or 2200kv are what you need for 4s and the 1400kv for 6s

i wana upgrade basically all the electronics in my boat, i have ordered a 200a esc and i can change my prop no problem just wana know what i need to go with. im new to boats so i have no clue about all this stuff yet, i have loved the water and live on a river plenty big enough to play on so i want a good setup and my neighbor is about to get into this also. what do you think i will get out of the stock motor with that 200a esc and that prop? will it hurt the esc if i run it like that for a little while or do i need to go ahead and order a motor and prop? the prop says TFL 435 it so im guessing thats the size of it.

Make a Wake, do you have any idea of the speeds that could be reached with that set-up with the prop you suggested?
