Only one question really matters...how big is your wallet?

50"+ boats are quite common in electric.

that is the only question. If you have the money it can be done.

As you can see, I have a 56" Segad that I converted from a gasser. It's a beautiful hull, but like most of the flat sided boats, cornering is not it's best talent. I also am building a 44" Aeromarine Avenger Pro for Offshore racing, and I highly recommend the Avenger. It is far stronger than any of the Chineese built boats, and with it's stepped sponsons and 16 1/2" width it corners as well as any boat made.

I got lucky and bought the Segad hull-only for $400 shipped vice $1000 + shipping from Venom. The Avenger Pro hull only costs $180 + shipping, and is made in America. Here's some pics of my Avenger with a Leopard 5692 & water jacket laying in it. Plent of room to work with. JIM

Aeromarine 5692 1090 (40330 RPM) or 730KV (27010 RPM), 10S2P. I won't know which prop until I finish the build & test it with both motors. As always, there is a lot to be done & tested before I even decide which KV motor I'll be running, but probably the 703KV. The advice given to me was to focus on finishing (no melted Silver Solder connectors, fried ESC/LIPOs, or running out of juice) not pure top speed. The 1090 will pull upper 70s, but would likely fry something. I plan on racing it in T Offshore races - including the NAMBA FE Nationals at Legg Lake in June.

Setup right, the Avenger Pro is a highly competitive T Offshore class racing cat. It handles great in the straights, corners like it's on rails, and it can take the hull bumping beating that comes with Offshore racing better than any other big cat I know of. Now I just have to learn how to drive it.JIM
