    MY Experiences with R2hobbies

Okay about 3 weeks ago I decided that I would like to purchase one of R2hobbies "Godspeed U" ARR catamarans. I placed the order and had no problems during the checkout process. The next day I got an email from customer support at R2hobbies saying my order was placed but my payment didnt clear and that they would hold the hull in stock for me until it did.

The following day I got another email stating that the payment had cleared (no explanation why it took an extra day), but that they no longer had stock on the hull and would I like to wait or purchase a monohull. I replied and enclosed the previous email that stated they would hold stock for me. (Apparently the promise didn't last 24 hours)

When they couldn't tell me when stock would be available I requested a refund of my money. It has now been 2 weeks and I have sent 4 to 5 emails asking what the hold up is. I still have no money refunded to my credit card to this day and am still waiting.

I hope to be able to tell you shortly that I got some sort of Customer Support but in the meantime - heads up people and be wary in your dealings.
Son to me: It's never fast enough is it Dad?
Me in reply: Now you understand RC son!!!

I had a bad experience with them a year ago (sent the wrong hull and never corrected it). If they have your money, you are not going to hear from them again. They might ship you a hull when the get it in or just ship you some other hull to say they sent something. I would call your credit card company and cancel the payment.

Ive bought some things from them and havent had any problems with them.
Their products are kinda cheap, e.g. cheap quality, but some items are fine, eg collets, push rods and boot seals etc.

OK, you were right, Cory! Just for the hell of it I ordered a Godspeed hull from them yesterday, 4/3/12, & paid with Paypal. R2hobbies sent me 2 emails regarding my order - one stating my orderhad been processed, another that my payment had been recieved.

Today R2hobbies sent me another email stating they couldn't find my payment & that I needed to return to thier site to complete the transaction before they could ship my order.

I just started a dispute withR2 at Paypal this morning. I'll get my money back, but what a bunch of JERKS! Just like you said - BEWARE OF R2hobbies, THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF JIM

Theres the 2nd reason in this thread why you should buy from OSE. Besides, R2 hulls are thin, flimsy garbage.

Never had a problem with r2 and I've ordered three hulls and a whole lot more. All in all about 15 orders. Actually I prefer them over HobbyKing.

I was not impressed with the wood rigger I bought there and it still sits because it requires allot of work to get up to spec.

                              They don't use much glue.

It took forever to get a $12.00 credit back on a cancelled order. When they ship it usually travels fast though. Good prop balancer for $12.00, just needs a bushing for 3/16" props.
