    Doesn't sound right, short vid...

Finishing up the Daytona, i powered it up with the a freshly greased shaft and ballanced prop, everthing tightend up as if i were going to throw it in the water. It just doesn't sound right. Lot's of vibration it seems like. Alighnments seem dead on to me, don't think i could get them any better if i tried! I balanced the prop, so i don't believe that is it. Could it just be lack of load? The video shows what i mean, but didn't capture it quite as loud or pronounced as it really is. These are just short throttle blips, no wide open hits. What do you think?

If everything is balanced and aligned I think I would try it in the water. A load on the prop changes things.

I think its just the lack of load, all my boats sound like that! Scared the hell out of me the first time i heard it! Thought things were about to explode! But all is well and i haven't had any problems.

Sounds fine to me, if you cant feel anything "binding" up when you turn it by hand, throw that turd in the water and run it for a few, pull the line and see if there are any "shiny" spots on the flex, (if it rubbed on anything IE: shaft or liner)

Yup, it turns over nice by hand, no binding at all, just thought i may have something out of balance. Like h2o 1 said, it seems like it's gonna blow apart LOL!

I think your good to go, If I rev up my street bike or anything with a hi rev motor its going to sound loud as hell and shake your junk around. No what I mean?

Post up some video when you take her out if you can.

I have 2 "balanced" props for my syncron-- one sounds just like yours (and actually shakes the strut a bit), the other humms like a well oiled machine.

If your strut does not have any vibration issues I don't think you have a problem, but if you see a lot of shaking there, then check how it feels without any prop-- maybe your collet or flexshaft has an inherent balance problem, then try a couple of different balanced props, mounted both ways to see if some counter balance effect helps.

                Sounds normal to me.

Put it in the water and test it out.

Take the prop off and run it like in the vid and then do it again with the prop on to see if the noise returns. If the weight of the prop is the issue then its just sloppy clearence issues with the strut. My own opinion is that there is nothing wrong with it. But the issue could indeed be one of tolerance clearences in the bushings of the strut.

it could also be the coupler. I have had a lot of couplers new or used that were not true and would wobble a bit.

                      Hi,
Its hard to tell if any thing by video.
But when I am looking for a noise or vibration that is hard to find,
On cars and motor cycle and stuff,
I use a long screw driver,
And put the handle to my ear and touch the end to were I think the noise is coming from.
That may help you find what your looking for.
