Problem Calibrating a Hydra HV 240

Has anyone had problems calibrating the CC HYDRA HV 240 controller the first time they use it?

When I try to calibrate it, it only recognises the full throttle setting, when I move it to full brake it does not “Ring”

i.e. Starting on full throttle the motor rings once, rings 4 times then beeps (no problem)
When I Go to full brake it does not ring 4 times (just continues to beep)

The controller works after just this Calibration sequence but I don’t know if it is safe to use it if it has not completed the full calibration sequence

The receiver I’m using is a JR XS3 Fm.

    Thanks
    Dave

I have had exactly the same problems, except mine will not function properly after the "calibration". Haven't had the time to call Castle yet.

Fluid, I feel better knowing I'm not the only one, I sent an e-mail to CC today and am waiting from a reply from them.

My Hydra 120 works just fine on the same transmitter and even the same model, but the 240 will NOT calibrate. It does the same thing as Dave's does, except that now it will not reach above low speed - even at full throttle. I've tried both 1.03 and 1.04 firmware, no difference. Build date Feb 08. Grrrr.

I am using a JR XS3 Fm radio, which works on the normal Hyda 120 & Barracuda esc.

I've finally managed to get the calibration complete by changing the end point adjustment of the throttle Brake side to its maximum setting on the radio transmitter.

That was the first thing I tried. My HiTec has up to 125% on each end.....

Castle had a recall of their HV line of ESCs. Last month, I ordered a HV-240 and asked Castle tech support if the problems in the recall were solved. He said that there was a glitch in the software and that it has now been solved. I told him no rush on the order to ensure that I don't get a early production run.
