Will this esc do?

I brought one of these for my rescue rig to turn a 550 brushed motor and 45mm prop on 2s. It's never gonna be run long but it's tiny and the wires are very thin for both battery and motor?

Any thoughts? Originally I was going to use my old Tekin buggy esc but it smoked as soon as I plugged a 2s lipo in :-(

Looks like it will work, but it does not have reverse. You may find having reverse essential for manuevering the rig for rescue operations.

Mayhaps might want to look into the low cost brushed Proboat ESCs. They have half speed reverse, can handle upto 12 volts, and have a 50-60 amp capacity ... more than enough to handle a brushed 550 motor in your application. They usually sell for $30, but the Chinese clones on ebay work just as well for about $10 - $15 cheaper.

Well it lasted 2 runs then stopped and let out the dreaded blue smoke! Although it did get wet on its first outing.
