Extending ESC wires to the RX

Probably a stupid question but I thought I'd ask...
I'd like to extend the wire between the ESC and the RX using an extenstion harness (which is typically used to extend the Servo wire to the RX). I know extending the actual wires between the ESC and the motor is a no-no, but I would think extending the signal/BEC wire to the RX would not pose any problems...

I've done this numerous times with no ill effects. Squirt some Corrosion-X into the extension joint to keep connection from corroding if it gets wet. That HAS happened to me and was tricky to track down.
