temp questions

I am new into the rc boat world and have been reading up a lot on this forum about tuning the genesis i just bought. the only thing i cant find is what is an acceptable temp for an esc? i am running dual 4s 20c 4000mah batteries and im not sure of the name or model of my esc/motor. i know its a 150 amp esc with cooling tubes. the first time i checked it i was upward of 140 degrees f, i changed a few setting on the esc and i now have it running around 125 degrees f constant, is that ok or do i need to work it down a little more?

If you ched=cked the temperature very soon (about a minute) after taking the boat out of the water then 125* is fine. Depending on how many amps you draw ans how long you run the temps can vary. Where in Texas do you live?
