Lehner motor in star mode? Is this right?

    Hi,
Just wondering if this is right for star? And if so can you use any "second" wire around the motor for the star or only certain 3?

You can make it a wye wind motor by using the connections as you describe. To make it a delta you will need to connect a pair together to one connector for the esc. Hope that makes sense?

John is correct, you have a Wye connection shown.

Thanks guys, just wanted to confirm before I add power. Wye is what I need though.

Also what kind of connectors would you guys use? Have any of you got a picture of how you have soldered the connectors?

        Thanks,
        Kent

This is how I wired my 3060 lehner. I put female bullets on each leg so I could configure it on the fly. So to speak. What you see is the delta configuration.

Now thats what I'm talking about. what bullets are they? 5.5mm, 6.5mm lehner?, and did you have to cut the wire coming out of the motor to get them that close?
I wanted to solder my 10 guage wires to the male connector on a 90 degree angle, sorry about all the questions, just dont want to reinvent the wheel :) or stuf up. one of my motors dont have the little white caps/rings? they are suppose to be the same, but one has a slightly different back plate and no rings? I definetly want that look, that way easy to wire as delta or add the star. and use any cable long/short.

            Thanks,
            Kent

I decided to use 6mm bullets on that motor. Of course you can choose what size you want. And yes I did cut the motor wires shorter to allow them to rest upon the back of the motor. That way there would be no flex on the motor wires. Just my choice. I wanted to keep any flex or vibration from wearing the wires exiting the motor like the Neu's were having an issue with. The teflon bushings kept the connections insulated from the motor case. My bit of RC enigineering so to speak. With a female bullet on each leg you can decide what KV you need the motor to be used for. Thats what I like about my Lehners. However, having said that I seem to leave the "right" motor in each of my builds and just leave them in place. SO why I build them for adaption, then dont use them for my intent is beyond me? Must suffer of RC OCD I guess.
