Dragon Sword Mono replacement motor advice

    Hi FE Boaters,
I ran my small Dragon Sword Mono today with a new two blade metal prop.
The boat comes stock with a plastic-carbon three blade prop.
    The stock prop was 32mm x 1.4pitch.
My new 2 blade metal prop is Not 35mm as it said on the package when I got it used, but 40mm as I found out today.
It is an Octura x440 b/s and it's detounged.
The boat woke up with this new two blade set up.
Literally jumping out of hole on starts to the point I needed to add some weight up front.
Unfortunately this new found acceleration was short lived. After running with my club
WFMBC this afternoon, I took my boat to another pond for a few more runs.
The boat seemed to be running fine until I flipped. It's self righting so I eventually brought it in. I didn't think anything of the flip until I tried the throttle after bringing it out of the water

Something has happened, because the motor sounds bad.
I'm thinking that this two blade set up may of been too fast for the motor? Too much RPM
that may of caused the motor to spin off balance? Also, since the boat was slightly faster
and accelerated faster the prop did seem to be out of the water alot more then my three
    blade set up, Amp spike?

The motor is a 2848-2636KV. I'm trying to locate a replacement motor with the exact specs or fairly close. The ESC is a 50 Amp
I've got another metal prop on order currently. This one is a 3 blade, 32mm by 1.4 pitch.

I've been trying to figure out the difference between a 2848/2850/2860 etc...
28mm is the diameter, does the 48/50/60 stand for length of the can?

    Thanks for the advice/help

-Need new motor for Dragon Sword boat. 22" small shallow V Hull, Stock motor-2848-2636,
    50 amp esc
-Want something with these exact specs or fairly close.

The 28 is diameter in mm's.............the 48 is length of can in mm's.

This leopard 2845 series will be more powerful and efficient than what you had in there, its 4 pole motor too. You can try the 2550kv with the 35mm prop you have. You may be suprised with more speed even with a bit lower kv...................or they make a 2960 as well!

    This 4 poler would spin the 35mm too...............3000kv http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s..._Inrunner.html

It self-rights very well. Takes about 30 seconds to fill the flood chamber.

The suggestion of RayR is an excellent answer. The prop pitch is 4. You could do a bar cut on a octura 632 which allows the motor to spin to it's max and less heat.My sword will be here on the 28 but it a kit boat. I have the motor esc lip and props like 2 blade. They sell the 2648 -2636 0n sword site for $40.00 but RayR suggestion is best cause of 4 pole motor. Now the 2500 will have less kv but then you could run a higher pitch prop like a plain 632.

              Hey Ray,
I did buy the 32mm x 1.4 3 blade metal propeller last week, but ordered the wrong rotation. I have another on it's way with the right
rotation from the hobby shop. I got this 2 blade copper prop yesterday used, as my plastic three blade had some damage from running a
ground when the boat got out of range down at the far end of Ackerman towards the main entrance.
I got the prop which I thought was a 435 from Truckpull, however I realized tonight it's actually a Octura x440, detounged, b/s.
The boat had alot more power out of the hole, too much rpm. When I get the new motor I think I'll just run the metal three blade, unless I can get a decent 32mm 2 blade metal prop.

I Got a Sword 630 ep kit boat. Hobbywing 2838-3900kv 35amp seaking esc. Only run 2 cell lipos cuz the low rated esc go's into overheat protection. But back on the subject. My best prop ran was a Venom 3 blade hp 4 3613r I think thats a 36pitch for 4mm help me out here. A big diff from the 3 Blade 4 dhp 3213 which I Think is 32 pitch or am I wrong and its 32mm diameter. help me out, NEWBIE. First boat ever. 2 Blade props didn't work acceleration was better after plaining out but wont happen without percise throttle controll. Those 2 blades where the Octura 430 left hand & pro boat 2 Blade 1.34" X 2.06"(what diameter is this) bolth 2 blades had to be drilled out.

                So Good props
Venom 3 blades 36 1.4 (whats the 36 mean, pitch or Diameter?
                Bad props
Octura 2 blade left hand 430
                proboat 1.34 X2.06

Last one to try are the Aluminum Venom 3 blades but only go to 36 will they make a difference from the same in plastic on my setup.

Also my boat does not self right, is that something because it was kit.

For Leegreens, probably you did not fit the port side weights, which ensure that the port side of the boat sinks in order to fill the flood chamber. this puts the boat right side up, so a small amount of throttle drains out the flood chamber and off you go. (sorry, off topic)

Motor is from OSE 2845 2550 kv. Prop is HK 34mm but has a BAR-CUT. What grease are you using for solid shaft? How do you keep water out of shaft.? I was thinking of use Nylon curtain pieces about 1" long from hardware store annd slip in just inside rear bearing and plenty of grease in that area.-----------------roll-over test should be slow with what factory pieces already in place but after my cancer operation , i;ll test. I was thinking 4 pieces of weight. Floatation of entire is my concern. Any ideas. 3S =28305 rpm is my goal but prop is a guessing game. 2 blade 4mm 33mm 2318.33 is a good prop and cheaper too.
