Villain EX how to rewire to reverse motors?

i want to reverse my motors on my villain ex, so they both rotate in rather than out. of course i'll swap props too. anyone know how to do this without just swapping motors? i would rather not remove the cooling kits if possible and leave the motors in place, but, if not, i can do that. i read something about timing the reversed motor? do i need to do this if i reverse them and if so, how?

    thanks in advance!

The titan motors should be set to nuetral timing already so you won't have to mess with timing. For changing the rotation it just a matter of changing the red and black wires on the motor.

wow i did that but one of the batteries started to smoke where the wire solders to the battery so i pulled it right away.

actually both batteries started to smoke and melt the plastic end cover on the battery. they are ok, still work as i pulled them off in time.

OK, maybe i misread. i swapped them at the plug to the battery, is that why they smoked? So if i'm reading right, i need to cut them at the motor and swap them at the motor? hopefully that's it but i'll wait until i hear from you. i suppose the way i did it is not right due to the speed controller?

Yes at the motor, not the batteries. The esc only excepts voltage one way. (you can't swap the wires on the battery as you found out) Hopefully no damage was done to the esc?

no it's ok. boat still runs fine! and if it doesn't, well, lesson learned the hard way LOL.

what are those little diode things at each wire connection to the motors? i obviously need to be careful with those while re-soldering, but what do they do?

Just leave those the way they are, They help reduce electrical interfence from the motors running.

cool, thanks for the help! going to the river this weekend. buddy got an aquacraft supervee 27 to break in this weekend. most likely, as usual, my boat will be the only one running at the end of the weekend! (2 pro boat blackjacks down, one aquacraft to go LOL). of course it's mostly driver error. flip and fill with water.

yeah, thats something you don't have to worry about with the villain. Course one day you'll want it to go as fast as your friends though.

one day? well, for now, neither of the current 2 can finish a run, so I WIN. but yeah, that will happen I'm sure. I've only flipped it once and that was in an 18" chop with 30mph headwind. had to do it, but the wind dumped it when she went airborne. was having fun before that though, and the blackjacks would not even go in the water.
