garmin gecko or forerunner are smaller. I use a gecko in my 32" cat as the etrex is too big.

I have a Holux 245 which is almost 1" shorter than the Garmin gecko. Maybe this will fit? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Holux-GR-245...ht_3817wt_1180

GPS module for an eagletree? Get the advantages of the eagletree data logging plus the gps.
Might cost a little bit more up front but you do get 100x the info out of it.
GPS will only tell you speed, the eagletree will tell you what you really need to know, amps, volts, rpm and temps + speed with the gps.
Plus the eagletree is about the size of an esc.
If my boats upside down then who owns the one I thought I was driving the last two laps?

That's what I'm thinking of going with is the eagle tree a lot more information plus be better in the long run

I'm also a cyclist, so I use my Garmin Edge 800, which is really small. Downside, its $400 for the basic model..

The pic shows it only goes to about 80kph which is only 49.7mph! Not sure if it does more but that's a big limitation if it doesn't.

I downloaded the manual and it appears the speed is not limited.

There are several modes and the 80km is because it is set in Bicycle mode. If you set to car mode to will change the scale to 199kph or mph if you prefer using Amercan units. It real is a nice unit by the way.

No, Carbon fiber blocks the signal. Thats why the radio ant. must go out side so must the GPS or get one that has an external ant. option.

                            Hi jcald2000

Thank you for the info :-)
I will start looking after that type of GPS.

                            Best regards. Henrik

Thought I would add another option to this thread. I just bought one of these for 129.00 and free shipping. It is waterproof and you just take the band off and put some velcro on the back(I recall I just cut the band off the old one). Runs on "AAA" batteries. I had the Forerunner 101 for a long time until it went down to Davy Jones Locker when I lost a hatch. Really easy to use and just toss it in and you are good to go. Here are the dimensions:
                              3.26" x 1.71" x 0.7"

As you can see, nice and thin and not too long either. You might find an older model(used) for the sub $100.00 range.
