    set up

i got ten cells a seventeen turn motor. the boat hits maybe 15 mph. but it is the most impressive off the line ive ever seen. it jumps out of the water. but i want more speed. is it all up to prop tuning now or should i try a motor with less turns. its a new motor and the drive train is running very smooth.

Ten cells is just too much for a single 05 brushed motor, it will burn out quickly. I would definately not go to a lower turn motor. Like SJFE said, we need to know more about your setup - hull, prop, controller, etc.

however a 17T motor on 10s sounds like a great setup for a boat any smaller than 25". As long as temps on batts are ok I would prop up. If you dont wanna chance temps getting too high just try more pitch since you are grabbing outta the hole.

It's a 24" long hull, 10" wide and it's an 05 motor and the ESC is rated for 45 amps. I'm using 12 gague wire soldered deans connectors. The motor is water-cooled, but the ESC is not. The prop is a Graupner 2 blade 40 mm diameter 56 mm pitch. That's the biggest prop that I have that I'm running.

Oh, the hull is simple ABS plastic. An old Viper.
