    Q...Hydro and Marine of Germany

Do any of you have or ever had one of these hulls...I'm wanting to build a Hydro, or Shovelnose, these appear to be nice hulls but I can't seem to find any details on them or reviews, any help appreciated...I'd like to stay 1/10 scale since all my rc cars/trucks are 1/10

    I like these ones
#20557 Hawaii Kai 1/10th scale Hydroplane,
    # 10536 Classic U62 Hydroplane,
    # 10791 Bud Viper Turbine Hydroplane. Factory assembled Hull
#10496 Viper II GFK 3Point Hydro
    #20609 Olympia 1/10th scale Hydroplane
#20178 Bud twin wing 1/10th scale Turbine Hydroplane

H&M are very popular and well made hulls. I've owned a couple and there great, sadly the only place in the states to really get them is Fine Design and they don't have the best reputation. Just do a search of "Fine Design" and look for yourself. Lots of horror stories.

While H&M hulls used to be world class, that is no longer the case. Many are now made outside of Germany, and since the change a few years ago the reported quality has dropped. Too, the hulls the OP listed were designed for brushed motors and round cells - they often perform poorly with BL motors and LiPos unless modded.

This isn't a recommendation not to buy one, just that they do not live up to the overall reputation they enjoyed five or more years ago. You can order direct from H&M, the owner speaks decent English and is happy to ship to the US.

I have 2 of the hulls. Running UL-1 motors with SF120 esc. I'm very satisfied with both hulls, althought the hatch fit is a little sloppy. You can E-mail Ollie directly and he'll send you a shipped price with paypal invoice. Both hulls took exactly 30 days to receive.

I owned the Hawaii-Kai for a while - ran decently with a 9XL on 4S2P. The NAMBA 1/10 scale class uses 1500KV spec motors for 1/10 scale racing-probably the best bet for sport running although the AQ 1800 KV would make a good choice as well if you don't race it.

            2008 NAMBA P-Mono & P-Offshore Nat'l 2-Lap Record Holder; '15 P-Cat, P-Ltd Cat 2-Lap
            2009/2010 NAMBA P-Sport Hydro Nat'l 2-Lap Record Holder, '13 SCSTA P-Ltd Cat High Points
            '11 NAMBA [P-Ltd] : Mono, Offshore, OPC, Sport Hydro; '06 LSO, '12,'13,'14 P Ltd Cat /Mono

P0ll of boats??????/ Which cat to choose from. I've been raking my brain between the Motley and the Geigo. The price isn't much difference. The Motley motor at 6 pole-1800 has the led. I have the tactic whic works great. The geigo motor isn't a 6 pole 1800 but is 1500. The Poll has Motley at 30 votes while Geigo has 11 votes. I' retired with a bad health problem which is being treated at present. What i would like is some pros and cons as i don't race but fast sport FUN. Sure would appreciate iinput from you masters, THANKS!!
