    MHZ Mystic C5000 small (84cm)

Hi all, I’m planning to build small version of MHZ Mystic C5000 (84cm). I have not seen many of these. Most projects are usually bigger ones, why?

I also need advice about power train. I think to use Lehner 19-series motors. 1940/8 or 1950/7 with 6s LiPo. Is there enough room at hull for these with water jackets?

For ESC I have FighterCat LV Marine ESC 6s 240a TWIN in my mind. Have people any experience or thoughts of this? Will I fry Lipos if only use one battery bank of 6s 45c or two 3s 45c in series?

I appreciate all comments for this build.

    BR J.K.

    Why not the M 1140mm - Just a thought!
Small ones easy to roll maybe? but can go fast for cheap?
I already want the 1350 :) If your going the lehner direction, you can use 1950's on the mystic M
Would highly recomend 6s 1p per side, 65c-130c

I just calculated costs to build 840, 1140 and 1380 with my favorite stuff inside and that’s why I’m standing smaller build

Are 840 so much easier to roll?

I also want to go 1380mm hull If I will have bigger budget. 1140 needs Lehner 22’s and 1380 30’s Those babies are expensive... Also high amp and/or high voltage ESC costs more. LiPo’s etc.

Hey madcat thanks for reading my build.
Honestly don't go small go 1140 or bogger, you can power it for cheap. Leopard's castle Neu. Don't have to be lehner. If you can afford 1950's then 2240's are close in cost. I got a pair of 2280's for the 1300 hull. One day!!

Anyway get bigger hull because thats what you want in the end. Changing your mind will cost you if you don't buy right. Mark my words I've done it so many times, it hurts. Spend the money once and spend it right!. If you want an 840 hull, just buy a stock standard genesis and be done with it. Not trying to spend your money here, but I have a feeling you will want a bigger hull before you finish the 840. Hull.

Build what you want and build to your budget, there are a few bigger builds that impress me but only the ones where guys are using quality components in a well thought out build who know what they are doing.
I'd much rather have a quality smaller boat than a big POS. More enjoyment in the long run when it works the way you want it to day after day without going up in smoke.
To me a successful build is a boat that you don't want to sell because it's "Old Faithful", runs fast, runs well and just keeps on doing it.
I'm just putting the finishing touches on a 65cm H&M cat that is running a 4200kv Lehner on 2s probably with a fightercat 300amp esc, thats the only remaining thing to get, build is done except for paint.
Could have built a couple big cheap clone cats instead of this one quality boat. Didn't want a big cheap boat, not out to impress anybody but myself.
If my boats upside down then who owns the one I thought I was driving the last two laps?

we're not talking big cheap boats here, both are the small and medium size from MHZ Germany with a Lehner setup. I'm suggesting, if madcat can affort a small MHZ with a Lehner setup then the stepup is not that bad. Now I wish I had the 1350 model using my 2280 Lehner's. Wouldnt call that a big cheap setup either. "sure thing!! Build what you want and build to your budget" Build wrong and then what??, build again?

Read the guys post, if he had a bigger budget! If he doesn't have the money that means he can't build bigger boat.
Don't let someone convince you you have to have a bigger boat to have fun in this hobby

If you really look at it, it's not that bad! Why would you use 30's in a 1380? When the 22's have enough power to push the hull over 100mph? All Im saying is.... Calculate it all and look at the $$$ difference. Remember to ship the hull around the world could be as much as $150 and maybe $80 for motors. If you don't do it right from the start it ends up costing you a lot more in the end. If you so badly want the 1380 hull, just delay till you save the money. Only 3 months ago I bought a Genesis, now I'm playing with MHZ and lehner. From what I have spend already, add $250 more and I would of had the 1380. I'm still happy with what I got but!! You know. Regarding esc's no point of buying small ones. Play with a few props and you will cook them. So as a minimum SF240HV. I'm sure they can drive a Lehner as well. My lehner's spin well on SF240 on 12s.
