    Hydra 240 wires and connectors.

Hi, I just got my first Hydra 240 ESC. I saw another thread that says to put both red input wires in one connector and the same with the black. I am running 2 2s1p Lipos in series. Is this the right way to do this? Also do I do the smae with the six output wires? Do I put the 2 like colors together in one connector for a total of 3 connectors? Thanks for any help.

Also why the 10 total wires instead of just the normal 5? Sorry about all the questions but I just dont get it.

    See picture...
    does that help?
CC made it this way so they did not have to put an 8ga wire instead, which is not
as flexible as this 2 are.

Also has can I get away with still using bec or no? I run 4s in my SV and still have it hooked up with no problems.

ON 4S I'd go opto... otherwise the BEC board heats up too much... besides, you get less interference.

Cool thanks! Will the LVC still work without bec and using a seperate RX pack?

Doesn't it say in the instructions not to cut the motor wires

not sure, but if they do, then the entire RC community is in trouble.
                :D
Seriously, I don't think it is in the manual, did you see it? I know that they mention
not to cut the wires on the motors. By cutting the wires on the ESC you'll get less resistance thus reducing heat. Cut it enough that it'll fit your system w/o problems.
The picture you see above is my SAW ESC, so I made sure to cut it as short as possible not only to diminish heat but also to have it fit in my rigger:D

dont mean to hijack thread but ofcourse I must!heehee . WHY use a hydra 240 on a sv motor or even a feigao?? They are only rated for like 70Amps anyway. I know some headroom is desired so go for the 120. I just dont get it. Im not saying your using a feigao cause you didnt specify but I see guys using the hydra 240 for feigao's and kb45's. I think neu motors are rated much higher but unless your going for a NAT title then why????

                      Heheheh...
you don't HAVE to use a 240 in your SV.
It is a good idea to buy as powerful as you can get so as soon you upgrade
your boat or power system you already have a rock solid ESC... besides it'll run cooler
and save your equipment from wear.
