How much effect can stinger angle have on speed?

32" Mono. Motor is at the front. Batteries at the back on a vecro stand. COG is just under 9"
    Castle 1515 2200kv
    SK180
    4s2p

I originally had my stinger angle too much negative and I was only getting low 30s, I then upped it positive on my old set up with motor at the back and I was hitting high 40s so I thought I would switch it around with the motor at the front and the batts at the back for more weight. I then put the stinger in line with the hull.
Only got 38MPH... after which I adjusted the angle positive again and hit 52 but within about 15 secs the speed dropped off and I was back around 38....
Batteries were at 4.00 (hyperion 45c)

It is such a difference in speed that I'm wondering if it could be something else. Motor problem? It is pre-owned 10 runs... Motor sounds fine though. http://youtu.be/FtVfjQIJe74?hd=1
I have heard of the LVC in the esc causing problems before. (ESC bought from new) Could this be it? Is there a TX setting other than ABS that could cause this problem?

I seem to get a lot of rooster tail or hardly any at all. Here was a ok run-- http://youtu.be/zClWeAjddPY?hd=1

I had a pursuit before this and I never had any problems. Bit confused. I'm more inclined to think its the motor as the power seems to fade.

Ideas please? Hoping to run it again tomorrow

Id buy eagle tree .. monitor pack voltage.. attach red/black input wires at ET to the battery.. no current would pass through as std batt leads to esc carry that.. and watch the packs drop under load when you playback data file on computer..
. rested voltage is always higher than under load... the ET will produce a realtime measurement.

SK180/T180 have thermal protection, where they will redduce output toprotect circuit.. the vid shows a 'what did it hit?' moment perhaps explained by sudden output reduction from esc.
Assuming after 10 mins rest the boat would perform 100% again.. before the throttle down occurs ?

Thanks I was looking at a Eagle tree system yesterday. Will have one soon.
Sometimes the boat shoots off and then has a sudden lapse in power. I have checked all connections over several times.

Id not trust the auto cell count on those esc.. manually set...
T180 V1 had issues .. manual set cells the only option.

This problem has been discust before on the 180, what has been said is dont use auto as been suggested & some have set with no low voltage cut off. But you have to time run times carefully.

Will take on board the suggestions and try again. Thanks for the help so far

Didn't get to go the lake today but I did change the esc to 4 cells instead of auto. Before I was getting a red light a full throttle but not anymore.
