    3/16 flex questions.

I'm converting my .150 system in my MC to the 3/16.
Question 1) There is not "flat-spot" on the shaft for the drive dog nut. (hex screw) Is it a "have to" as far as having one? If I do have to have one how do I make it??

Question 2) Should I run the 3/16 with no Teflon liner in the 1/4 brass tube and strut thats already there? OR should I buy a new strut and go thru all that business of bending and installing a new 3/16 brass tube to match my new 3/16 shaft??

    Thanks for the help.

Use a small file to make a flat spot. You'll need a 1/4" tube for .187 flex without liner.

your right, I meant 1/4", I changed my post. But thats what I have. (1/4) What would you do? run it without? (I'm good about maintenance and grease) or swap it all out, to make everything 3/16?
and thanks for the info on the flat spot. Is there a measurement on where to make the "file" mark?

      thanks

hook the whole system up and put the drive dog on, when you tighten it it should make a small mark on the shaft, that is where you file away.

Yea use 1/4" tube for .187 with NO liner. The liner does nothing but cause issues.

Perfect, Both of you have answered all my questions on the subject.
            Thank you for the info.

I'm now off to the bar, so I can work on my boat tomorrow with a sweet hang over and maybe wake up with a "random"

            thanks again
