You can set it to read in the units you prefer. Compact and waterproof it really is a nice little unit. Can be set for jogging, biking, vehicle and a few other things I can"t remember right now.

BEWARE! I bought a garmin Forerunner on Ebay. I screwed up the charger & discovered that Garmin does not support the unit anymore, period. Couldn't find a charger for it anywhere. JIM

I believe the Garmin Geko, Forerunner and Fortrex 101's use (2) replaceable AAA batteries - which might be better in the long run - when the 201, 301 and 401's 's internal lithium batteries get old and won't hold a charge anymore (or you screw up the charger!). Something to think about.
Edit: I see some 301's use AAA batteries - maybe early production?

Thanks Dave. I just picked up another complete Forerunner 201 for $54 on Ebay. Now I'll have a spare 201 for use and/or backup. And, I keep my stupid hands off the charging cradle this time. JIM
