Willl more timing make outrunner run hot ?

    Hi,
I have a outrunner and I think timing is 15*on it,
    But it runs a little hot I think, 4 minutes on 4s 175 f.
If I move the timing up will it run cooler ?

    Thanks for any info.

          Hi,
          Its the stock venom motor 2000kv, I ran this one on 15*timing on 4s2p with a x640 and temps were 175 f, Esc caps 154 f, Esc 105 f.
I just thought it may run cooler with more timing,
But also I just saw that the x640 prop I used was not s&b right.
I also have two fightercat outrunners 3126 2200kv and 1600kv, I have not tried them yet.
Trying to see the differents in them running in the boat.

I spoke to castle about the cc outrunner I'm using in a geico about heat issues. They told me that outrunners run hotter than I runners and that they like higher timing. I've bumped my timing up to 18.5 and it brought the temps down.
            white geico w/2200kv 3674 leopard 53.5mph 4s2p, geico w/ 1800kv outrunner 52mph on 4s2p, genesis w/2200kv castle 53.8 on 4s2p, impulse 31 w/2200kv castle, stock p1 and ul-1

              Ok thanks for that info,
That is what I was thinking of doing,
I think the prop did not help ether.lol
The seaking esc timing card has these timing I can try 18.75*, 22.50*, 26.25*.
I just thought I would ask on hear first, Before I burn something up.

with cap temps that high it implies you do not have enough power from your packs, what packs are they?

                  So far I used turnigy 4s2p 30 to 40c 3600mah and 4s2p 40 to 50c 3000mah,
                  And 0ne G force ex 3s1p 30c 5000mah.
If it was the packs they should be hot, I would think.

true, the packs would heat up, but your caps are pretty hot.
try two runs back to back after your components cool, one with 15* and one with 18.75* and compare temps.
