    SORRY and SPAM..............

Night night a couple of wonderful new SPAM users from India signed up on our board and left about 100 posts on old and new threads. I deleted them and their posts, but I'm sure many of you received email updates on threads that you were subscribed to. I'm sorry about this. As of now I will have to manually activate new users to try to stop this crap. It seems to be happening more and more.

It does, but also means more problems.

For example I was searching for links to the site and found a forum that had NOTHING to do with rc boating or OSE and was using this as one of their subforum names... "OffshoreElectrics FE Boating Forums". People trying to capitalize from the keywords.

Steven, you don't have to apologize, it's not your fault but I'm glad you got to the root of the problem. It's sad that a truly usefull, powerfull tool like computers get polluted by the crap that dishonest people infiltrate our board with. These bad people have cost me lots of money in computer repairs.

Jeff M. now uses an interesting "spam blocker" tool that I'm considering so all my rich relatives in Nigeria won't pester me any more. Might be worth looking at.

I have had the same issues from the bandits that Steven has mentioned....when I see a message from dubious senders, I delete it and yes my computer has been infected by these twits and as Tony states cost me a few bucks. I do a virus check every day.

I've recently switched my email servers over to gmail. All my email addresses stay the same, just use their backend to handle the mail. Its been working nice(so far) for email spam.

No hacking. At least not yet. Just the normal spam users. It happens just about every couple of days now. Danny, Dom and Jim catch most of it before anyone notices. And most times they only post a couple of times. But they spammers posted on a ton of threads.

But Steve that one guy could give you a deal on shipping boxes. For the heck of it I did a search on the company he mentioned and it appeared to be a legit business that had a nice website
