    front sponson adjustment

    P1010274.jpgP1010273.jpgP1010272.jpg

Finishing a build of an outrigger with a 40" tub, 10,000 mah 35c 6s, 300 amp Fighter Cat speedo, Leopard 5682 1670 kv motor, 3 degree AoA on the front sponsons. Any ideas on how to adjust the front sponson relative to the tub? Heard all kinds of ideas- a little toe in, angled to the left to cure prop walk, etc. Anyone wanna weigh in? Thanks.

Be prepared to need up to 1/8" of toe in on the turnfin sponson so the boat will run straight with out too much rudder input. I have an 8s2p JAE inspired rigger I have been racing for a year, 38" tub.

You could do a variation off what I added to my Mr. Krabs. The front sponson tube is adjusted using an aluminum plate attached to the nose.

P1010276.jpgP1010275.jpgJCALD2000- Yes, I'm starting with a Prather 240, figured that would be a good place to start. So, run the left sponson parallel to the tub and toe the right one in about 1/8"- that's where I'll start.

John- that is a great idea for the Mr. Krabs. So you vary the thickness of the plates to jack the sponsons side to side? Nifty. Here are the sponsons I made last summer when I ripped off the right one in a blowover and it sank. Much less aero lift and doesn't blow over anymore. Works well.
