Et v4 150a data logger wires: Too small??? Placement???

Bought an Eagle Tree 150 amp data logger for my Seaking 180A ESC. The Data Logger wires to both the motor & ESC are 12 gauge. The ESC has 10 Gauge. Batts are Turnigy Nano-Tech 5000 mAh 65-130C, 4S2P config. This is a an Apparition single motor (Leopard 3674 3270KV) SAW build. I've already melted the stock Turnigy plastic connector, and the 6mm ESC batt bullet leads. Will now be using 8mm bullets for the ESC/Batt connectors. Questions:
    1. Will the data logger fry or cause any problems to other equipment?
    2. Is there any other way to connect the Data logger other than between the ESC/Batt to avoid the high amp motor/ESC/batt circuit?
    3. Should I just give up & use the data logger on lower KV builds?
    4. Or should I try to shoehorn in a Castle ICE 200HV to get data?
    5. Are these the dumbest questions ever?

Somebody posted this a while back.

I have been running this for months 192 amps cont. 283 amps peak.
Here are the instructions I posted on RC Groups in the ET vendor section.

You can also, on the wire lead ET, loop 12 ga. wire from esc side directly to batt. side bypassing the board entirely for both the + and - . This will bypass current, about 1/2, and let it run much cooler. You now have a 300 amp logger!

Next you need to access a Clamp on amp meter, clamp it around the battery leads and run the system up for 15 seconds or so logging the data and compare the amp readings between the them. The ET will have a reading of about 1/2 half of the clamp on meter.
Now connect your ET to the computer, go to "Advanced programing" click on "Calibrate volt and amps" and enter the actual readings in the appropriate boxes and save.

That all there is to it! Welcome to the 300 amp club!
If my boats upside down then who owns the one I thought I was driving the last two laps?
