    Shear bolt question

Are there different sizes for shear bolts on a rudder? Cause the ones I put on my MC have a little bit of "play" in the 'back & forth' movement of the rudder. Compaired to the no "play" at all when I use metal bolts. The first time I ran 6s, the rudder flew off. So just not sure if the nylon shear bolts just 'failed', or maybe they cant handle that kind of speed? What do you think?

    thanks

FT, You might want to try using weedwhacker line that produces a tight fit. I just use a short piece about 3/4" long, insert in the rudder & squeeze the ends with a vice grip - or melt the ends with a lighter or micro toarch - to keep it from falling out. Cheap & effective. JIM

PS: Have Raptor 700 with 12" ohlins - will travel to Sand Dunes

So you use the weed whacker line instead of the bolts? Sounds like a good idea, I will give that a shot.

      thanks for the info.

And I have question for you: do you ever mess aound with the big gas boats, like a Rio51 type of thing?

I ride at Gordon's Well, then ride the Sand Highway - or right up the middle up to Glamis, and back.

Gas boats-yes. Here's my RCMK powered Hydro.

FT, no PM yet. Don't know much about the Rio51. Other than hydros, I'm a cat guy. JIM
