Is this boat Plastic or Fiberglass or something else??

It was made as a model so no hatch but I am wondering if I can use it for FE (cut a hatch possibly)
Length 40 inches, Width 10 inches, Height 6.5 inches

Weight 3.4kg

It definitely is nice looking. Its an exact scaled down replicate of a boat. Probably was on show somewhere before.
My main worry is cutting the hatch if it is plastic. What tool would be best to use?

carefully with a utility knife or dremel tool

I'm Guessing I could use my Apparition hatch as a guide but make it a bit longer hatch.

It looks good, but personally I would keep it as a static model, I think 3.4kg is a bit much for a bare 40" hull that narrow, some might like heavier hulls than me for more power but for comparison the FC Daytona hull which I hear is a stronger layup of the 37" Genesis, is only 2lb, less than a third of the weight, my old 36"x14" 6s cat was a pound lighter than that RTR and my current 36"x14" cat is 4.7kg RTR on 8s.

Don't use a Dremel to cut the hatch in case it is plastic, cutting at high speeds melts a lot of plastics and makes a right mess, even for glass Dremeling a hatch out can blister the paint, if as yours looks to be it is prepainted. A razor saw is a good tool for the job whatever it is made from.

Thanks for the info. A Razor saw might take a while but I do want to make a clean job of it.

It was made out of fiberglass, as far as I know they kept it as a static model.
