    LVC or Overheat?

Hey all. Long time lurker, first time poster.

I'm currently working on a Delta Force 23" build. I don't know whether I have a bad ESC, an underperforming battery, or if I am just so far overpropped that the amp draw is causing an unusual voltage drop. The same setup worked pretty well with an M445 the week prior and all the internals except the battery came out cool to the touch.

    Here's a video:

    The setup is:

    Octura M645 (I have a feeling I overpropped this thing a bit...)
    Leopard 3650 2450Kv
    Seaking 60A
    Venom 4000Mah 3s 20C

For those curious, I did switch out the prop for an M445 but this happened (Yargh!!):

I'm hoping to get some insight before I put an Eagle Tree logger on the system - though I'm thinking that's a good idea regardless.

    Thanks everyone!

    How new is the battery?
Is it properly charged, cells are all good?
Try another battery, maybe 5000Mah and a little higher C rating.....

Maybe 10 cycles. I charge it on a Thunder Power 610 and it takes a charge and balances fine. I checked capacity last night and I got 3650 Mah into it after a charger-controlled discharge.

LVC on the ESC is set at 3.2V/c and timing is 11 (I think, whichever is the setting available on the Seaking below 15).

I also tried some 2260 Mah 25C 2S batteries but they do the same thing - as I'd expect due to their ~50amp draw rating.

Put the eagle tree logger on...
I have a feeling you are pooling way more amps that you think..
And last, try new ESC..... 120Amps min....

Wow. A 45mm prop on a little 23" hull just seems like too much prop. Even if your not suffering the normal issues with too large a prop it doesnt seem right. I know your RPM's are low but setup correctly I would guess a 40mm would be around max for peak performance. Maybe theres a combination of factors contributing to the issue?

That could be the case (I'm sure it is actually, but who doesn't like playing with the envelope?). However, when I was running an m445 it felt /great/. I only started hitting LVC/Overheat on the m645. This is all in comparison to x438, x537/3, and an m440. I've been experimenting a lot. Mostly I was just curious what was happening in this specific case. When I get some video of the m445 I'll post it.

You could try running with the LVC turned off for just a short time. If the problem goes away, you at least know that it's the LVC and work from there......
