Spend that money on a real boat. watch the swap shop, or place a WTB thread.

that feeling should come with a ose/member built boat thats been tested and proven, I belive most people that buy anything RC rtr will pull it down and re build it to check it over and most the time upgrade a few things that they've read on here. I'm not sure but I'm maybe most sellers here would send it to you already trimmed and ready to chuck in your rx, lipo's, grease and then into the water.

how are your skills? are you handy? we all love to just throw a boat in the water, but there is nothing like building your own. my rtr dont stand a chance against my aeromarine boats. no contest.
your budget is a bit small for anything bigger than aprox 32' boats. but if you can find one in the swap shop, thad be the way to go imo

I've only been at this for 3 months. First boat a MG. Within 2 weeks she had a leopard 4082 and a seaking 180. Tried various props. Then a Stiletto (my rescue boat) only prop work. Then bought a Vac U Pickle. Basically first build. Runs awesome. Finishing a H&M Hydro (Never buy from Fine Design. Read posts on him). Just bought pretty much everything to build a fast SS45. Wanted to keep it under $700.00. At $1100.00 and still need a few things. So I agree with everyone else. You won't be satisfied with rtr. The guys here are great with their experience and help. I've been a pain in the ass with stupid questions and they've been great. Good luck

Personally I would not buy anything from HK that is that big too much of a chance of getting the order screwed up or damaged i woudl rather deal stateside for a boat hull and have much better service (excluding Fine design) in case there was a problem

Personally I have 24 orders complete and sent to me from HK and not a glitch yet. Of those orders, 3 were boats. All arrived as if I went and picked them up at the LHS. Keep in mind I am located in Canada where we get raped not only price wise but in taxes and duties. HK sends $500 worth of stuff and it comes through at $30 so no taxes or duties. I have also ordered from Tower and main hobbies but both of these get here and I always get nailed for 15%+$ which I hate. The best service to Canada if you want fast is right here at OSE. My stuff arrives always within days and somehow manages to skip customs all the time. On the other hand some other US sites take for ever and sometimes as long as HK. EG, ordered a drive gear for my Savage Flux from the US on the 21st of Jan, still waiting!!!
