    school me in lipo, i am in need of serious help!!

    decided we want to go lipo for the 50" apache.

    the setup was going to be twin kb45xls on 240's powered by 20nihms a piece. thats pushing it in terms of voltage.

    i figure with lipos i could go a little lower voltage and still achieve the same speed due to wieght saving but i have no clue were to begin. i've tried to comprend this before and it all go's right over my head.

    i need help right from the basics

      That boat is huge and heavy. You will need top notch equipment . Neu or Lehner largest can motors, Li-Po power, Schultze ESC etc.
      Expect to spend $3000.00 and up. If you want a fast boat.

          1 LI-PO cell (S) = 3.7v

          2S1P =7.4v

            An 18 cell NiMH is roughly the same voltage as a 6 cell (6S) lipo, which is 22.2 volts.
            Don't get me started

              If you are using 18-20 Nimhs for both motors you will need one 6s lipo (22.2 V) or two 3s lipos (11.1 V x 2= 22.2 v) running in series. This is a matter of how much space available you have in the boat. The greater the "C" rating the better and more ams the bats can handle.
              If you are using 18-20 Nimhs for One motor you will need double of the above.

                Get at least 25C discharge cells and the most mAh you can afford....
                these are good sport packs, buy at least the 4800mAh (4 3cell packs) or the 5300
                (2 6cell packs)

                  i wouldn't trust 6s in the hydra 240. especially when you have the KB45, they are amp hogs.

                    Eyecandy is right... ht is the very limit on the Hydra LV... I oversaw that.
                    I guess I was thinking about the HV I have coming my way, hehehehehe... well, I am in line at least.
