Edwin Hall Effect & How It Applies to 4-Pole Inrunners and Higher Pole Outrunners?

Hopefully someone can help me understand how the Edwin Hall effect and how it may apply differently to 4-pole inrunners and higher pole count outrunners. I am also interested in finding out how much the Hall effect is changed based on other factors such as the position of other wires or even water as with the case of a motor jacket.

    - Meniscus How can we expect to come to our own conclusions and theories if we don't first appreciate the findings and experiences of others and take them into account? The answer is there are ways...

Please no beating me up because I'm asking the question. I'm asking because I want to know, not to hear from someone that I don't need to know. Thanks!!!

Oouch! Thats a tall order. You can get some great read on what you seek by getting the book "Brushless Permanent Magnet Motor Design" by Dr. Duane Hanselman. I gather you already know the definition of the "Hall Effect" or what it represents? Personally I like to keep the theory stuff down to a minimum since I dont design or modify electric motors. And I still have a hard time wrapping my mind around "holes" in conductors. They can theorerize all they want in Quantum Mechanics, but I guess I'm too damn dense? I accepted electrons moving or jumping from molecule to molecule in what I grasped as "current" but the idea of another charge moving in the opposite direction is where I just gave up. Besides one can be physically demonstrated, where as the other can only be explained mathmaticaly.
