    HK 5682 1700kv Pro Competition

Wow, this seem to be a beast. Anybody have any experience with this. According to 1 reviewer it is a rebranded TP. Also says it has more power than the same 5682 by Leopard. Would this be overkill in an Osprey? Can't believe the price. http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...%5F1700kv.html

I sure as heck don't know and this is why I asked the question. This is supposed to be a rebranded TP power motor like this. http://204.186.93.64/TPPower.htm This is a quote from a reviewer. "It is definatly a TP Power Motor- Parts inside and Cables from the same manufacture." Only trying to get some info to see if someone here can confirm this.

lots of the reviews on there are purely BS. I've seen reviews before a product was even available.

Ask rckong what he thinks of his. He put one in a 36" Sprintcat for Q. Seems I recall hearing something about a "real turd" after a couple of laps aeound the lake.

Took your advice bill and talked to RCkong and there were other variables involved, throttle curve and a bad cell. He said he will get a proper test over the weekend. im hoping it does much better because i purchased two 5692's from HK.

              Hi
has anybody actually run these TP Pro motors in a boat??

              The 5692 1000kv claims 6000watts? thats insane....at approx $75USD...

That is why I posted this. The prices are 3 times less than the branded stuff and if there is any truth to the power rating then holy cow. If the bearings are not as good it's really not a big deal to put in high quality ones IF they were to go bad. The Pro Comps are 4 pole rotors, 16 segment field stators. FYI, The 1320KV is also rated at 6000W.

What kind of ESC would one require if this were to be run in a 41-42" mono like the Osprey? Would a T180 be asking for trouble or is a 240 required on a 6s setup with the 1320kv motor?

How much power are you looking for? If you prop for 4000 watts on 6s then a 180-amp controller is just too small. I prefer to use an ESC which is overkill - less chance of a burndown. So a 240-amp high volt controller would be preferred.

Thanks, that's what I thought but not sure as I am still new at this. Just don't like the going price for the 240. Heck the boat and motor cost less but guess it is what it is.

                          This 5682 could be a good runner in a DF33 for P-Mono..!

                            hey guys

I run 2 x Turnigy T5682 1050kv, 10s setup in my EPV 135 53" twin cat. It run really fast and FYI its a 6-poles motor. Here a video of my boat running, the pond too small so I can only pull the throttle 1-2sec only and don't mind the gas boat. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ab0GuD5-5UQ

                              Hi there
ive got the motor, i was going to install it into my MMP Rapide but i think it might be overkill, it with its mount its pushing 800grams.
I was going to run it on 5S with a T180 in that hull, but not sure now!
