Those hulls are narrow so it's probably from the torque of the motor/prop.
How to fix a busted transom?

Very common for them to roll when getting on plane, mine does this.Comment

I ground down the gelcoat to take a look at the damage. The crack runs the entire length of the transom. and the gelcoat is damaged underneath, and on the sides (as you can see in the picture). There is also a wedge shaped crack in the the transome that follows the cracks in gelcoat, you can see these in the pictures.
I cut out the bottom half of the transom, much like you did srislash, and have discovered there is no ply in there at all. Not even any fibreglass... The only fibreglass is that comming from the hull running the length of the boat. The back section of the transom was just epoxy about 4mm thick, with a bit of glass flaked on the inside of the hull. It basically fell out when I cut it.
New plan, I have cut the entire back out of the transom, and will get a piece of aluminium about 2.5cm wide and about 12cm long and bend it into a squared U shape. and epoxy/glass it to the top and bottom of the hull inside. I will then build the back of the transom up on top of this (if the bow of the boat is facing towards the floor) out to the correct level and then sand it into shape. I have left the wedge of the transom at the top of the stern because I didont want to lose the top decals and paint.
In the end, it's going to be about 20x stronger than it was originally. I have also ordered a 3/16 upgrade kit, as when I took the hardware off, I noticed the drive shaft where the line slots in is cracked in three spots and is rough. It probably happened when I totaled the boat, as I believe it hit the prop/ drive shaft which did most of the damage (as the nylon lock was in fact in place, and the rudder was not damaged in any way, the nylon screw was damaged however)
I will post up some pictures a bit later on.Comment

Did you crack the seam?
Second statement,Sounds familiar!!
Third, good plan, drill holes in the aluminum for the epoxy to flow thru and bond, also layer some cloth between the existing hull and aluminum and again over top of it wrapped around on the inside top deck and bottom.
Before any of this,do you have any blue or green masking tape? It's a good idea to tape the entire hull so you don't mess up the good parts with your epoxy fingers.Oh yeah, latex gloves too. This is gonna get messy but won't happen again.Comment
