    Motor mounting Hole Spacing?

Being relatively new to boats I am only familiar with 36mm diameter motors. When you get into 40mm or even 56mm are the mounting holes spaced the same distance apart between any 2? what about actual screw size? Do they remain the same or get bigger?

If the spacing is more than the standard 36 the holes are still spaced with the shaft centered between them. The larger Neu's use 4mm screws.

You're right. I didnt get enough sleep last night. LOL

The most popular spacing is 25mm. Then it goes up to 30mm on larger Neus. Don't know about brands.

Thanks guys, tried looking up a few but did not see bolt hole spacing dimensions. So basically a flat aluminum plate with a large centre hole (for shaft) and 2 holes spaced 25mm apart becomes a universal motor mount right?
