    First Cat!!

Looking at getting my first Cat and just not sure which to get. I really like the looks of the Pro Boat Mystic, and the Genesis Offshore but not sure which way to go. any ideas or pros and cons on each?

I just bought a genesis last week. You will need a prop, speed control, RX, and TX to be able to run the boat. The plastic prop is junk. I also recommend up grading the the motor as well. The boat is very good for the price IMO.

for your first cat i recomend the PB Mystic,,, i have a Geico but there the same thing or close,, and i have a Genesis,, the Mystic will be alot more stable and comes with better electronics but if your like me i id go with the Genesis cuz of her size,, it runs pritty good with the factory electronics but cant turn like the Mystic can, mine ran fine from the factory but i changed everything cuz i just wanted it faster. if you decide on the Genesis id get it from Aztechhobbies in the uk, seams they send them with better stuff, like esc and TFL metal prop..

The Apparition is also a great cat. I love mine! I would also not mind having a Genesis either.

So, you want a RTR only? I'd suggest building one. AM Mean Machine.

I'd 2nd the "build your own" idea, I watched both the Mystic and the Geico run over the weekend and as nice a boat they are, for a little extra time and not much more money, you could just build the exact set up you want from the start rather than go rtr only to add all the suggested upgrades to the order when you buy it. I think the experience you'll get from building would be worth the extra time, thats what I found anyway.

I went that way too, and in the process of building my first boat i got tired of waiting and just bault a RTR to play with while i was still building my first one and i would say get a RTR first, enjoy running it awhile then upgrade it or build your own that way you can still have something to play with..

Thanks guys for the input, still not sure which way I will go. I love the paint on the Genesis and the size of it, But then I like that the Mystic is a RTR. Another BAD thing is that the wife likes both so no help there ether.

The genesis is easy. Get the boat with all the hardware, a decent motor ie 4074 4084 leopard or similar. I run a turnigy xk4074 2000kv on 4s. Choose the kv to suit your battery choice and get a proven esc. I run the t180, or a swordfish 200a something like that and a radio then your good to go. It will be as fast as you want without having to upgrade.

That makes it's easy then, just get both, you'll end up with more than one boat after a short while anyway.

This is a good one from Astecmodels in the UK http://www.astecmodels.co.uk/catalog...oducts_id=1274
Carbon Fiber Genesis just the hull. They also have a few ARTR Genesis packages as well. I have the Apparition from them, really strong layers of fiberglass and good seams.
