    41" Fighter Cat Fantasm

...Just a sneek peek at the first 41" Fighter Cat Fantasm. These are available in Carbon fiber or Fiberglass and should be in stock any time now at FCR. This hull is going to be a stone cold killer. The finish is great and the size is perfect in my opinion. Not a pain to transport but large enough to hold some serious power.

I ran this cat today. These ESCs are a little green as far as testing goes so I'm starting slow and working my way up. So far I'm running 50s and it's so stable it's almost boring! I will be upping the voltage a little tomorrow and getting closer to 70. Videos are being uploaded and I'll post them in the correct section soon. A++ goes to this hull guys...I love it!

          Looks really nice Keith

What size motors will fit in this boat?

Mine has 3740 ourunners. There's plenty of room for motors within reason though, did you have something in mind?

I was just interested in what size motors where typcially being used in cats of this size with twin motors. I'm using a single 4082 in my 36 inch Genesis, and was wondering how you select an appropriate motor size when going to twins. Not that I'm considering doing it, well at least not for a while and only after I've got this set up running as fast as possible. Maybe a project for "down the track". But the 41 inch Fantasm sure does look appealing.

I've got to say this boat is perfect. I'm working together my parts list as we speak and hope to order by the end of the week. I've had HPR hulls and others in the past but all have been gas.

My main question which has been shut down at other forums.....can I build a fast electric cat that gets decent run time? I don't need to do 80mph. 50mph would be plenty for me but I want 10 minute+ runtimes. Is that impossible with these boats? And I don't need 10 minutes of WOT running either.

Just curious as to what I'm getting into with the FE's.

Really looking forward to getting the Fatasm built though. I'll keep ya'll posted.

10 minutes messing around, on/off the throttle isn't out of the ordinary. You are going to have a hard time staying out of the throttle though, these hulls handle 50mph like it's nothing.

Sounds good Keith. I sent you an email a few days back. Can you give me a good setup for 4s/5s motor and ESC wise that you offer? I'd like to go with all FigherCat stuff.....motors and esc's.

The one thing I already have is some HPR smaller drives i'd like to use. Since I have them.......

Looking forward to ordering a hull though......hopefully end of this week!

Really? Sorry, I must have missed your email.
I personally don't offer any ESCs or motors...not sure if that's what you meant?
I can give you a reccomendation though...I would go with inrunners anywhere from 4074 to 4092, around 1800kv. That would put you right where you want to be and you could run both 4s and 5s, depending how fast you want to go.
As for ESC, it really depends on your budget. If you have the money, the 16/300s are priced pretty well, and they will run on 4 and 5s and not even get warm with most setups...then you have ESCs that would allow you to move up to HV down the road if you choose to.
On a budget you could go with the 8/240 ESCs, but for the price difference, the 16/300s are hard to pass up.

                        Keith,
Thanks for the info. I'm all jacked up. Apologies for that! I actually assumed you worked with Fightercat since you had one of the first! My bad!

But great info! Thanks for that! I will definitely be looking at the 16/300's and your motor recommendations.

Could you do me a favor? I need a shot of your back transom on the boat. I want to see if my HPR drives will work on this hull. That would save me some money if I could just use these bad boys. Or if not a pic maybe the measurements?

Thanks again for your info! Awesome hull! Looking forward to getting my hull ordered and started into fast electrics!

                        Mike
